As we close up the week, there are a few folks that bitched and moaned about results on their music sales. There are those that anticipated their upcoming albums to sell so well, and sorta’ did not. This week, rapper Soulja Boy sold only 13,000 copies of “The Deandre Way.”  Ne-Yo had a little over 29,200 copies sold this week. Surprisingly, Slim Thug holds a faithful following of tweeters, but came just a step above Soulja Boy on the Billboard charts at 14,000.

The Black Eyed Peas also took it down to 117,066 sold for “The Beginning.” One more who commands much hip-hop respect Kanye West had sales this week of 108,000 with “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.”

Everybody’s been active or at least vocal towards their record companies on the matter. Soulja Boy hasn’t been tweeting, artists like Alicia Keys and Kim Kardashian died and didn’t tweet in a campaign to get donations for organization “Keep a Child Alive.”

This week had its ups and downs, and some had their egos stroked. Either way, we got through it and as for artists, album sales may be a thing of the past. Live shows are where it’s at.
